Meet the athletes from Signing Day

Alannah has been playing softball since she was about 4, and has been around the sport her whole life.  Her favorite memory was hitting her first home run on our home field.  Softball has taught her about hard work and overcoming failure to find success.  She's learned a lot about herself and how she handles adversity.

Arkez has been playing football since he was 4 years old.  His favorite memory was breaking his own touchdown record in the Nimitz game with 4 touchdowns.  He's gained some knowledge about life and family and being committed to something.  Football has taught him so much - mainly it taught him that if he ever got knocked down, get up and keep going 100% until my goal is accomplished.

Kiara has been playing 13-14 years.  Her favorite memory was going to the 5th round of playoffs last year.  The sport has helped her be a stronger person and a better leader.

Saylor has been playing since she was 4.  Her favorite memory was going deep into the playoffs last year.  Softball has taught her how to be a team player and she's made great friends through softball.

Kaelyn has been playing softball for 13 years.  Her favorite memory is getting the last out of each series to move on in the playoffs.  It has taught her how to deal with failure and how to reach her goals.

Steele has been playing football for nine years, starting at age 8.  His favorite memory was sacking the #1 dual threat quarterback in the nation, Derek Lagway, twice against Willis.  He's learned that you reap what you sow and that hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard. She has been playing softball since she was 4 - it’s the only sport she’s ever played.  My favorite memory has been going deep into playoffs each year and having fun with my teammates.  Over time, softball has taught me countless lessons and how to learn from failure on and off the field.

Marjorie has been playing volleyball for six years - my favorite memory was making it to the state tournament with teammates.  Volleyball has taught her how to be persistent no matter how hard you want to give up, and selflessness and to put other people before yourself.  

Emilia started her track and field career when she was 8, but didn't start taking track regularly until 7th grade.  Her junior season was her favorite, but regionals were especially memorable.  Track has taught her so many valuable lessons on and off the track and has shaped her into who she is today.

Lily has been doing gymnastics for 15 years, starting when she was 3.  Her favorite memory was when she made it to nationals last year and got all career highs during the 2022 season.  She loves competing with her teammates more than anything.  Gymnastics has taught her the value of hard work.  She learned that you must struggle in order to be successful and reap good results.  It also taught...

Brayden has been playing baseball for 13 years.  His favorite memory from his time at TWHS was throwing a perfect game in 2022.  Baseball has taught him a lot of life lessons making me the person he is today, and made him a natural leader.

Shey has played basketball for 14 years, and his favorite memory is breaking the school record for the number of points scored in a game.  It’s helped him mature and grow as a person.

Cooper switched from baseball to lacrosse in 5th grade and has loved it ever since.  His favorite lacrosse memory was beating Brophy Prep (Phoenix) over spring break during his freshman year.  He’s learned many things from sports - a hard work ethic, working as a member of a team towards a goal larger than yourself, and has made bonds with teammates that has created friendships that he will have h...

Baseball was Wei Wei's first sport, starting at age 3, and he only switched to football at 7th grade.  The team dinners with his teammates the night before the games were one of his favorite memories.  Football made him more responsible as a person and more dedicated.

Alex has been playing golf since he learned to walk.  During a playoff hole, Alex chipped into the hole to win Regionals.  Golf teaches you a lot of life lessons, you meet a lot of good people from different cultures - it’s important to be honest, have respect and be a gentleman.

 Madison has been playing soccer since she was 8 years old.  Her favorite memory was going to state in her sophomore year.  Through playing soccer, she has learned good communication skills and teamwork.    

Mitchell has been playing since 3rd grade - his favorite memory is playing his favorite sport with his closest friends.  It has made him have determination, grit and the will to work hard.

David has been playing football since 3rd grade. Playing against Duncanville and getting a sack. He has grown as a man and a person thru football.  

Sammy has been playing baseball since he was 3 years old.  His favorite memory was his home run against Rockwall in the 2022 playoffs round 4. 

Thijn started swimming a year and a half ago.  Going to travel meets with his team is his favorite memory from swimming.  He has learned thru swimming that failure is a part of his journey to success.

Aidan has been swimming for 7 years, and the last 4 for the high school.  His favorite memory is the bus ride home from winning state in 2021.  As a swimmer, he has become more of a leader than ever before and learned how to handle pressure better.

Jack O'Rourke has been playing lacrosse since second grade, in Bronxville, NY.  His sophomore year, beating Brophy Prep was his favorite memory with the team.  Playing lacrosse has made him a better leader, a better friend and allowed to see the value of being part of something greater than himself.  Every day he takes great pleasure in going to war with his best friends and he wouldn't trade it...
