Team tennis finishes season 3rd in state
Last week, The Woodlands High School varsity tennis team went to state for the third year in a row. They played in College Station at Texas A&M against Memorial High School for the first round. They had a heartbreaking loss of 9-10, but still took home the third place title.
“It was a bittersweet feeling,” said junior Tania Aburto. “I was very proud of everyone’s effort and energy. However, it was a bit disappointing to lose a really close match. Overall, it was an amazing experience I will never forget, and I’m glad I was able to have a great time with the team.”
“Going to state was a very stressful experience for me, but during games that stress turned into excitement, ” freshman Maryia Tryhubovich said. “I feel like it was like this for the whole team as well.”
This was the last match of the fall season for the team, and they will be looking forward to playing in the spring.
