TWHS freshman wins CISD art contest
Raigin Fowler, a freshman at The Woodlands High School, won first place in the annual CISD Holiday Card Contest out of 110 entries total.
“I entered because I thought it would be fun to place, I’m proud of my placement and excited I won,” The winners were chosen by 113 voters, all central administrative staff.
“The holidays coming up and getting into the mood is what inspired my artwork,” said Fowler, “I enjoyed the process and improving my skills, I find art relaxing.” Her card was an image of a snowman in front of snowy mountains.
Her medium of choice was alcohol-based markers illustrating frosty lettering above a snowman in a wintery scene.
Fowler is a student in Holly Glatzel’s Art 1 class. The third place finisher last year came from Glatzel’s class as well.
