Apple steps up their game and finally brings major changes to their new iPhone! Through recent years the development of the iPhone has felt slow with only a few changes with each phone, but beginning Sept. 22 they will finally release the iPhone 15, giving us new features and even new technologies in the phone.
Similar to the design of the iPhone 14, the 15 models will come in similar sizes and camera design, but there are some changes; one of them being the new titanium-alloy frame. By replacing the old stainless steel frame with titanium, the phone has less weight and even more durability since titanium is used in spacecraft it means it can withstand space and back. Another thing being changed is the charging port. Thanks to the European Union’s effort to reduce electronic waste, people have long awaited the iPhone to switch to a USB-C port for universal charging, so people don’t have to use multiple charges for different devices.
Apple has updated the ring/silent mode switch to a multi-purpose “Action button.” The button will allow people to have quick access to controls depending on how many times they press the button. For example, if they click the button two times they can turn on the flashlight, and if they hold and press the button they can still activate ring/silent mode, but the order can be adjusted in settings. Apple has also included the new A17 chip for the 15 Pro Apple’s first 3-nanometer chip, which allows for much better and faster performance, so with a GPU upgrade the phone is said to be able to run console games for the first time.
One of the best things about the phone is the pro model’s new movie-quality camera. It is the first smartphone to support the same encoding system as filmmakers. The iPhone 15 pro has the standard 3x lens while the 15 Pro max has an upgraded 5x lens, so the images themselves are sharper in detail even in low light areas essentially being able to zoom in and still have the same resolution, unlike the previous cameras. With a better camera, the iPhone 15 will be able to take pictures on par with professionals, but there is still a major difference between the Pro and the Pro Max because of the insufficient space needed for the super zoom lens on the Max.
The iPhone 15 isn’t another copy and paste of the previous phones;t has reached a level of effectiveness and due to increasing technology, it’s becoming more like a computer. Though it is up to the user how effective the iPhone is in daily life, it is a step closer to a world with better pictures and graphics.
