Twisted Pink Out for Volleyball

Join us Friday, October 18th to support The Twisted Pink Breast Cancer Organization, in memory of Jackie Savoie.

This Friday, October 18th, is the annual TWHS vs TWCP Pink Out volleyball game. It will be a home game and start at 5:30 p.m. This Pink Out is to support the Twisted Pink Organization, which raises money and awareness for breast cancer and its research.

The TWHS Volleyball team became involved in this event because according to Coach Wade, ”being a part of a sport in the community, it’s a lot bigger than just you.”

At the game, there will be a bake sale, pass the boot donation, and around 15 raffle packages. You do not have to be present at the game to purchase raffle tickets. The packages will be valued at $100-$400, and the names will be drawn and announced between sets.

Friday night’s games are specifically to honor Jackie Savoie, a local resident who passed away from Metastatic Breast Cancer last October. Game attendees are encouraged to wear pink in support of the Twisted Pink Foundation and to honor her memory. You can read about her story here, https://thewoodlandsvolleyball.com/pink-out.

TWHS volleyball team has had a successful season thus far. With the team currently sitting at 30-8, and being second in district, they are hoping to beat College Park for the second time this season. Ian Burch is a sophomore at TWHS. This is their first year doing newspaper, but they've been an avid writer their whole life. They love baking, occasionally showing up to school with an entire batch of brownies for seemingly no reason.

A Lopez is a senior at TWHS and is an editor. They like to make jewelry, research useless topics, and make fun of movies and TV shows. They love music, theatre, psychology, and the light of their life: Licorice, their cat.

Trevor Reese, Editor

Trevor is a Senior at TWHS. He is involved in various actives including being co-president for Comic Club, Fife Editor, and set design for the theater. He has a passion for writing and is excited to be writing for The Caledonian.
