Torchy’s is a chain restaurant that has 125 locations across 14 states. This delicious taco shop originated not too far from The Woodlands, in Austin, TX. Their menu is filled with fun tacos and variations of tex-mex foods. Torchy’s is a casual spot, and is accommodating of all age groups.
Recently, I visited the Torchy’s next door to TWHS with a friend of mine. Immediately upon walking in, the staff was welcoming and helpful. You order at the register, and then wait at a table for the food to be served. I ordered a cheese quesadilla, while my friend, Josie Pinsoneaut, ordered a grilled shrimp taco and a side of street corn. We also ordered a plain queso to share. Our meals came out relatively quickly, only taking ten minutes to be set on the table.
Immediately upon dipping the chips into the queso, my friend Josie said, “Wow, this is delicious!” Their food is not only quick to serve, but also delicious and gives an authentic taste. Moving onto my quesadilla, it was scrumptious and the perfect portion. I will definitely be returning and getting the quesadilla. Josie states that her street corn had the “perfect amount of spice and flavor” and her shrimp taco was “fresh and the perfect portions.”
Alongside the amazing food and accommodating staff, the atmosphere is filled with fun and funky vibes. There is an assortment of seating. From booths to tables to window seating-to area for adults, all ages can enjoy the vibe of Torchys! There were many families ranging from all ages enjoying a delicious meal here.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Torchys to anyone interested in some delicious Mexican food. Besides the tacos, they have salads, and are now offering bowls. They have vegetarian options and a kids menu for the younger customers.
Personally, I am not a huge fan of Mexican food, but Torchys is definitely now a go-to spot. If you have friends or family that love tex-mex, or even if they don’t, bring them on over to Torchys for a great experience and be prepared to be a returning customer!
