Baseball:
It’s spring time, meaning it’s baseball season. The Woodlands High School Varsity Baseball team currently have a 3-1-1 record as the season starts to begin. They are currently ranked 3rd in the district. In the last game they shut out Grand Oakes with a score of 8-2. They play home games at McCullough Junior Highschool.
Track:
Varsity Track and Field has competed in two meets so far, and is preparing for their next meet Saturday March 1st. Their 3rd meet in the schedule was unfortunately canceled due to inclement weather.
At the 2nd meet in the season, Elton Martin took 1st place in the Boys 1600 Meter Run Finals. In the boys 4×100 Meter Relay Finals, Woodlands placed 1st. Alex Nemzek won 1st place in the boys High Jumps Finals.
On the girls side, Darasimi Odelowo got 1st in the Girls 400 meter dash. In the girls 3200 meter run finals, Stoya Laydevant won 1st. In the girls 4×400 and 4×800 meter relay finals, TWHS clenched 1st. The team is also preparing for their “Wildwood Miles” meet which will celebrate women and girls in sport together.
Tennis:
As the season ends for tennis, their varsity team has become 2024 Bi-District Champion, 2024 Area Champions, 2024 Regional Quarter Final Champions, 2024 Regional Semi-Finalists, 2024 Region 2 Champions, and 2024 6A State Semifinalists. With the season ending the team is hosting team tryouts for the 2025-2026 season. Boys tryouts will be hosted on March 12th from 4:15-6:00 and girls tryouts will be held on March 13th from 4:15-6:00.
Swim and Dive:
This year, the Woodlands Swim and Dive team made waves in the state and national circuits. The girls swim and dive team won state and nationals, making them both state and national champions. The boys placed 3rd in state and 6th in the nation.
Soccer:
Varsity Boys Soccer district record is currently 7-2-2. Their season still has 5 district games left, then they will have playoffs. They are ranked 4th in the district.
Varsity Girls soccer is currently in their second round of district games in the season. Overall record is 14-1-1 and in the district they stand at 11-0; making them ranked 1st in our district.
