TWHS Girls’ Soccer team is headed to the state semifinals on Friday, April 4, at 5 p.m. against Coppell at Georgetown High School Stadium in Georgetown, TX.
The girls have had a phenomenal season, remaining undefeated throughout the 2024-2025 season. They have had 16 wins during their district season, “mercy ruling” three of those teams. A mercy rule is when a team scores 8 points, and the game is stopped. “We are currently undefeated in district play,” assistant coach Kelsa Dykehouse said.
On April 1, the Highlanders played in Regionals against Sachse at the Tomato Bowl Stadium, winning 1-0. Coach Dykehouse said, “our girls have done a really good job focusing on what they need to do to win each game.”
The last time they went to state was four years ago in 2021, where they lost in the semi-finals. “Going to state is pretty rare,” says Dykehouse, “the girls are thrilled.” They are currently top four in the state, but, if they win Friday, they would become top two in the state.
We wish the best of luck to the Lady’s Highlander Soccer Team in their semifinal’s playoffs! Go Highlanders!
