Shannon Waldron, Class of 2027, is the top diver in the state of Texas and has recently verbally committed to the University of Michigan to continue both her academic and diving career. She is the first female diver of her class to secure a commitment to a university—and not just any university, but her dream school.

Before her visit to Michigan, Shannon shared that the University of Michigan wasn’t just any university for her—it was somewhere she had been wishing to go for as long as she can remember.  “This is going to be the most important moment of my life,” she said, reflecting on the significance of the decision. She also expressed how much effort she’s put in to reach this point: “I’ve prepared my whole life for an opportunity like this.”

Shannon’s incredible work ethic and unwavering dedication was evident as she stepped onto the campus of Michigan, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in her journey.
