Seniors at The Woodlands High School kicked off the year with the annual tradition of car painting. Marking the unofficial start of senior year, students gathered in the 5,000s lot with paint pens and no limit to their creativity as they decorated their vehicles with school spirit. Windows, windshields, and rear windows covered with flowers and the painted words “Class of 2026” were found in nearly every parking spot.
As many seniors decided to make the most of their final year and participate in the school traditions; red, green, and white painted the roads on the first day of school. However, car painting, isn’t the only thing that seniors can do to remember all of their last “firsts.”
There are countless ways they can make their final year of high school unforgettable. Whether it’s getting involved in volunteer opportunities, joining clubs, or simply creating memories with friends, the possibilities for making senior year special are endless.
One beloved cost effective activity is creating senior boxes, where groups get together and paint boxes that will be filled with memorable keepsakes gathered throughout the school year. Not only is this a fun way of remembering senior year, but it is also cost-effective. Places like Hobby Lobby sell wooden boxes for as low as ten dollars, and amazon has high quality acrylic paint starting around eight dollars. To make the activity even more affordable, participants can use shoe boxes and split the cost of materials. This affordable and fun tradition is a great way to hangout with friends and create lasting senior year memories.
There are many ways to make this year memorable, senior Ella Graham said she is “most looking forward to the football games and dress up days,” and that seniors who want to make the most of their year should “go all out and participate in all of the school spirit activities.” Graham wants to tell upcoming high school students to be “open to getting to know new people and put yourself out there.”
As they enter the last Homecoming season, seniors should take full advantage of all of the activities available to them during the week. From the parade, to the dance- there are activities all week to make the best of the last homecoming.
