After one long month of her break from the renowned “Hit Me Hard And Soft” world tour, Billie Eilish has finally returned to the grand stage.
On the night of August 16, 2025, Billie Eilish performed at Saitama Super Arena in Tokyo, Japan, to a crowd of 36,500 fans. After a long-awaited eight years, Eilish hinted at her return to the country in the summer of 2024, following a “Hit Me Hard and Soft” merch pop-up in Harajuku, promoting the release of her new album at the time.
Additionally, during her recent concert period in Tokyo, Billie Eilish held the city’s first-ever perfume pop-up store, specifically catered to her newest fragrance, “Your Turn,” which was released on February sixth of this year.
With a substantial amount of promotion nationwide and Eilish’s face seen across countless billboards in Tokyo, Saitama Arena was completely sold out both nights. To no one’s surprise, the second leg of the tour has been praised by the media and fans across the globe.
When asked to describe the concert in one word, Jeremiah Soto, a high school student in Japan and a longtime fan of Eilish, described the show as “vibrant.”
“What made this concert special to me is the fact that Billie Eilish has been creating music that I’ve listened to for eight years now. It holds a special place in my heart after so long, while slowly growing into the stages of life she was once at.”
Through Billie Eilish’s sentimental yet sincere experience, she presents at her concerts, bringing light to the crowd through her openers, YOASOBI, a musical duo with Lilas Ikuta and Fujii Kaze, and R&B/pop singer and pianist, two of the most influential stars in Japan today.
“YOASOBI was my opener, I didn’t understand much of their music, but I’ve heard all the songs they’ve played and still danced to it,” mentioned Soto.
These icons were only two of Billie Eilish’s many openers. During the first leg of her tour, other stars such as Lola Young, Towa Bird, and The Marías joined Eilish on stage. Although the openers for her future shows are unknown, fans have speculated that The Favors, a band including Eilish’s brother, FINNEAS, will be present.
Despite this change, the setlist has remained relatively the same throughout Eilish’s tour. Although a few songs, such as “You Should See Me in a Crown,” a track off of her first album “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” have been removed, fans still hope that she will bring back a few older songs.
Eilish has a lineup of songs that she performs rarely, and has even sung a few covers, such as “Michelle” by The Beatles, while she toured in Paris.
As a welcoming gift to Tokyo and a surprise to kick off the second leg of Eilish’s tour, she performed a few heartfelt songs that fans now hardly have the opportunity to hear live.
“Billie Eilish played ‘My Future,’ ‘TV,’ and ‘Male Fantasy.’ Though she’s played these all before, they aren’t normally recurring, and ‘My Future’ is played much less than the other two songs,” noted Jeremiah Soto.
Following her astonishing concerts in Tokyo, Billie Eilish will continue her tour beginning October 9th at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. Then, only one month later, Eilish will make her grand return to Austin, Texas, marking four years since her last performance in the state. This sold-out concert will take place on November 13 and 14 and will be held in the Moody Center, which has a capacity of 15,000 people. Alas, as all things must end, Billie Eilish’s renowned ‘Hit Me And Soft’ tour will conclude on November 23 in San Francisco, California, but the memories will last forever.
