If you’re hungry for some yummy holiday food, look no further than Trader Joe’s. Whether it is for a party, gift, or yourself, this fall Trader Joe’s boasts many tasty sweets and savory bites.
Starting off with sweets, their pumpkin spice batons exceed all expectations. The batons are one of my personal favorites; they have a crispy, flaky, outer shell that pairs perfectly with the sweet and creamy pumpkin filling. Each container has 12 batons!
Another sweet treat I especially enjoy are the Pumpkin Joe-Joe’s Cookies. Not only does Trader Joes sell plain pumpkin spice Joe-Joe’s, they also sell Joe-Joe’s sandwich cookies with an outer coating. I taste tested the sandwich cookies, and I’d describe them as having a super-sweet flavor with a crunchy cookie and smooth filling. I loved their very prominent pumpkin flavor. The sandwich cookies boxes are $4.49 for 11 cookies, and the regular pumpkin spice Joe Joes have 20 cookies for $2.99. The price markup is worth it, the sandwich cookies are sublime.
In addition, the pumpkin blondie brownies are a great choice. The brownies are fluffy and moist, yet they have a more spiced flavor rather than a pumpkin one. The bits of white chocolate and pecan add texture and even more flavor. With only 8 brownie squares in a box, you don’t get a lot. However, it’s usually just enough.
An honorable mention would be the glazed pumpkin pie spiced donut holes. The donut holes are soft, with a typical sugary-sweet glaze. While I wouldn’t say they have the most prominent pumpkin flavor, I find them yummy nonetheless. They are bite sized, and you get 21!
For those of you who prefer savory or salty treats, Trader Joe’s has snacks for you too! This fall season, Trader Joe’s offers various special fall crackers, such as the pumpkin cranberry crisps, which I personally enjoy with goat cheese. They’re not at all overpowering: a perfect cracker to dress up. The cranberries give the crackers a slight sweetness. The pumpkin tortilla chips are amazing when paired with the fall harvest salsa. The salsa isn’t too spicy, and the pumpkin tortilla chips taste very similar to average tortilla chips. I found myself snacking on this for lunch one day, and I went “Hey, this is delightful.”
With fall comes chilly weather, and there’s nothing better than soup on a cold day. Trader Joe’s has two seasonal soups: the autumnal harvest soup, and the pumpkin bisque. In my opinion, I found the autumnal harvest soup to be the better of the two, and I’ve had it multiple times! It is a fairly typical soup: one that, in my opinion, could make a wonderful pasta sauce. The pumpkin bisque is more unique, with a spiced pumpkin puree taste. These soups are a must try for the cold days, whether you’re looking for something more out-there or simpler.
Last but certainly not least, I’d recommend the maple butter and the pumpkin butter. Both can be used as unique spreads or nice additions to recipes. For all my peckish people out there who like to eat in unconventional ways, try the butters by themselves: no bread or crackers necessary! Both are divine in their flavor: the maple butter like a heavenly creamy maple syrup, and the pumpkin butter like a spiced pumpkin jam.
Trader Joe’s offers an array of fall snacks: this article doesn’t even mention a third of them! From freezer foods, to cookies, breads, pastries, gummies, candies, and baking mixes, it is a must stop shop for any fall foods. The variety, taste, and quality are always unmatched.
