Woodson’s Local Tap + Kitchen
Woodson’s Local Tap + Kitchen may be known for their variety of local beers, but what many people don’t know is the food menu was recently expanded to have a variety of dishes, and there’s an item tailored to everyone’s taste buds.
The atmosphere in Woodson’s is quite noisy, but the friendly staff and the fantastic dishes make up for the crowd. I have never had bad service over the many times I have visited this restaurant. While it is a bar, many families visit the restaurant. Dogs are also allowed on the patio, and food bowls are provided so your furry friend does not dehydrate while you eat.
My go-to dish at Woodson’s is the Pizza Pretzel. It combines the soft, salty dough of a pretzel with the classic Italian delight for an out-of-this-world taste. Anyone who is a fan of pizza must try this dish.
I have also tried the Magnolia Spud. The Magnolia Spud is made from smoked brisket or pulled pork (I had it with smoked brisket), fried onions, fried pickles, barbeque sauce and queso. The brisket by far has one of the best flavors you will find in the area.
The final item I have tried from their menu is the brisket grilled cheese, which comes with your choice of smoked brisket or pulled pork (I had it with brisket), white cheddar, muenster cheese and sourdough bread. The two-cheese blend adds so much flavor to the brisket, and the sourdough bread is very fluffy. I would highly recommend this dish if you go to Woodson’s.
For those with a sweet tooth, Woodson’s does not disappoint. The dessert menu has everything from skillet cookies to banana pudding. My go-to dessert at Woodson’s is the cinnabites. The cinnabites are made from chopped up pieces of a soft pretzel topped with butter and cinnamon. It comes with a side of vanilla dipping sauce to enhance the flavor further. The cinnabites are a must try if you have room for it at the end of your meal.
Overall, if you’re willing to put up with a crowd, Woodson’s is definitely a place you should try. With two locations, one in Spring and one in The Woodlands, you are supporting a local business that has been around since 2016 while enjoying a variety of dishes
