‘Family Feud’ is a return to form for Finneas, going all the way back to the ballads of his first album ‘Optimist’. The song retrospectively looks at his relationship with his sister during her rise to fame, with lyrics like “you’re only twenty two, and the world is watching you” and “I’ve made mistakes, you'll make ‘em too.” The entire song is a heartbreaking look at watching a sibling grow up and just wanting to protect them from the world. Compositionally, the song is built up by piano creating a more intimate feel as Finneas pours his heart out to the listeners and to his sister.
