Nachi Gulati competed in a home match against Stratford on Sept. 16. TWHS won 12-2; the balance of the matches were called on account of darkness.

Last week, The Woodlands High School varsity tennis team played regional semi-finals and regional finals at Mansfield. They were victorious in both, leading to their title for regional champions.
The team played Tyler Legacy on Oct. 20 for regional semi-finals, winning 10-1. They competed against Midway for the regional championship on October 21st, winning with the same score.
The tennis team will be advancing to state for the third year in a row. They will play at College Station on Oct. 26 against Memorial High School starting at 3 p.m.
Freshman Nachi Gulati is excited for the journey toward state.
“Regionals was a fun experience for the team and we performed well. We are pumped for state!,” Gulati said.
Advancing to state is not new for TWHS.
“It feels good to make history three years in a row,” captain Jose Perez said.
The team will leave today at 4:30 and will begin their state journey to College Station. If you’d like to watch in person, follow this link for tickets, which are $15.
