For more than 40 years, the National Art Honor Society programs have provided national recognition and opportunities for students who exhibit outstanding scholarship in the visual arts, and for their teachers.

National Art Honors Society members recently elected this year’s officers. The roles distributed include Co-President, Vice President, Secretary, Historian, Community Liaison, and Educational Officer.

Morganne Tison was one of the co-presidents. They have various plans in store for National Art Honors Society.

Tison says they hope to make “the club more organized, eventful, and fun.” They strive to make “more volunteer opportunities and experiences” available.

The other co-president elected is Sophia Gonzales. She, too, has several expectations for the club.

“I want to make art a bit more prominent by helping organize art shows to make ourselves a little bit more known,” Gonzales said.

Amy Wei was elected as the club’s Vice President. She has the future of the club members in mind.

“I hope to provide more opportunities for art students who wish to start an art career and do this by bringing in experts”, Wei said.

The other officers elected include Sydney Okazaki as the secretary, Audrey Wertz as the historian, Vi Nguyen as the community liaison, and Sam Seeton and Halle Howard as the educational officers.

National Art Honors Society plans to meet in room 120 every other Wednesday.
