Girls’ Soccer loses to Klein in playoffs

The Lady Highlander Soccer Team began playoffs after winning District. Their first round of the playoffs was against Spring on March 25th. They won handily, 9-0. Their second game on the 28th was tougher, though. They played Klein but lost that one 1-2. They scored a last minute goal, which helped get the energy back up, but it was not enough to win the game.

Right middle Megan Orr is one of the TWHS soccer captains. She has been on both the JV and Varsity teams all throughout high school. She commented about the season coming to an end, saying, “It’s sad because I think we wanted to make it farther but we did the best that we could.”

Senior Savannah Knight is the team’s center back. She was most excited for the playoffs as a whole. She has played on the team all four years of high school, and her proudest accomplishment on the team is becoming captain.

Cristina Bonilla is the team’s left middle player. Her proudest accomplishment was “Scoring a goal against Conroe this season” during district. She said, “I wish we would have gone further but I’m very proud of being district champs. I hope that for the future of the program they’re able to go to the 2nd round of the playoffs and further.”
