Christmas wouldn’t feel like Christmas without the sound of traditional carols, songs that commemorate the coming of Jesus and the celebration of his birth. Other songs are about Santa Claus coming and gift giving- and all of those little details build up the Christmas we celebrate today.
On Christmas, it has been a tradition to open gifts and have extravagant food, and the endeavors families do during that day, some of the time carols are being played on the TV. Other families may have vinyl records, CD players, or stream devices as background music to eating, conversation, and holiday activities. Behind all the things families do, that small action of putting on music is an important detail that makes Christmas so special.
There has been an abundant number of Carols made, new and old, people have favorites that they prefer to sing, listen to, or perform. Some prefer a calming, peaceful song,
“O holy night is the best Christmas Carol, like ever.” Woodlands High School student Timothy Sam said.

Others prefer an upbeat, jolly beat to get into the holiday mood.
“Maybe God rest ye Merry Gentlemen” Gavin Gibson said in reference to his favorite holiday jingle.
For many, Christmas is a favorite holiday celebration, and the build-up is just as fun.
If you are in the mood for, or need to get in the holiday spirit, The Woodlands High School Orchestra, Band and Mariachi will be performing their annual Holly Jolly Jingle show, along with other high school musical groups at the Cynthia Woods Pavilion, Dec. 8, 2025 (Gates at 6pm).
