The Academic Expo that was held on January 15 was a great way for students and parents to gain more information about class selection for the next school year. The event allowed people to see all of the academic and extracurricular options that The Woodlands Highschool offers, while providing the opportunity to ask questions to teachers, students, and staff.
Many classes and electives had poster boards filled with important information about the class including and the skills that would be learned in each class. Students and parents could also look at the different pathways and the required prerequisites needed for each pathway.
Some of the electives that were showcased were, Debate, The Fife Literary Magazine, The Caledonian newspaper, The Claymore yearbook, various clubs, athletics, and art programs offered.
During the Academic Expo, there was also a college segment in the cafeteria. The event was presented as a way to inform students and parents of how to prepare for college.
A follow up event will be held the evening of January 21 at the 9th grade campus to answer any questions parents might still have.
