Dr Pepper was introduced to millions at the St. Louis World’s Fair in 1904, the same Fair that brought us ice cream cones. The period (.) was dropped from Dr Pepper in the 1950’s.

#1: McDonald’s
McDonald’s Dr. Pepper reigns supreme over any other fast food restaurant on this list. If you have tried any McDonald’s soda before, you may have noticed that their drinks taste more carbonated than other fast food chains. There is actually a scientific reason for this. Before they are put into the machine, the water and syrup are chilled. McDonald’s also gets their syrup delivered in metal tanks, while other businesses get it in plastic bags due to a partnership between Coca-Cola and McDonald’s. Even though McDonald’s has stopped offering their $1 for any size drink deal due to inflation and rising costs, remains one of the more affordable options out there, at just $1.00 for a small (16oz), $1.29 for a medium (21 oz), and $1.49 for a large (30oz).

#2 Whataburger
Similar to McDonald’s, Whataburger’s Dr Pepper has great flavor and carbonation. The prices are reasonable for the larger sizes that the restaurant offers, costing $1.29 for a small (16 oz), $1.84 for a medium (32 oz), and $2.09 for a large (44 oz). The only downside is that their cups are made out of styrofoam instead of paper or plastic. Using styrofoam helps your drink stay colder for longer, but also means that the cups are not recyclable at most recycling plants, unlike paper and plastic cups.

#3 Chick-fil-A
Chick-fil-A is beloved by many, and their Dr Pepper is no exception. They have a decent selection of bubbly drinks and their iconic nugget-shaped ice is, honestly, the best part. Chick-fil-A is not number one on the list due to the small pieces of ice that make the soda get flat and watery faster. The prior recommendations on this list may be something you would want if you will be sipping on your drink for an extended time. They also use styrofoam instead of plastic like Whataburger. Regardless, Chick-fil-A does have great sizes and prices, at $1.35 for a small (14oz), $1.59 for a medium (20 oz), and $1.85 (32 oz) for a large.
